The Mineral Collection

Our Mineral Collection is designed for all those assisting first graders as they learn to read:  reading specialists, Title I teachers and grade 1 teachers.  This collection features 70 new titles from six top companies arranged by Reading Recovery levels.

The Mineral Collection contains books from six different publishers.  Not limited to offerings from one company, we select the best that each company offers.  New readers benefit by seeing different fonts, styles and layouts.  We include both fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as various genres.  Collections are culturally diverse and gender fair.

The books span Reading Recovery levels 1 through 20.  Although designed for students at risk of reading failure, the Mineral Collection is appropriate for all ability ranges in a typical grade 1 classroom.  You can easily monitor growth as children progress from one level to another.  When children plateau, you can intervene sooner and quickly get them back on track.
