The Classics 2 Collection (Grade 2)
The SongLake Books Classics 2 Collection includes 121 books: 6 copies each of 20 paperback titles and 1 hardcover biography. These standard titles have withstood the test of time. They have been hand-picked from approved publishers and reorganized into guided reading collections for classrooms, Title I, and new federal programs such as RTI, i3, et al. They are also ideal for bookrooms.
Books in the Classics 2 Collection span guided reading levels H–M to meet the varied needs of students found in a typical grade 2 classroom. Different genres at each level offer you more flexibility in choosing titles of interest to your students.
Cynthia Rylant's hardcover biography, Best Wishes (Level O), 6 copies of her Henry And Mudge The First Book, and 6 copies of her Mr. Putter And Tabby Pour The Tea are included in this bookset. Children are eager to read additional Cynthia Rylant works and try their own hand at writing!
All titles included in this collection can be found in Fountas and Pinnell's Booklist K–8+. Each collection comes with two lists. One list is arranged by levels. The other list is arranged alphabetically.
